Firestorm - Trinidad All Stars Winner 2002 Panorama

The winning Panorama 2002 performance of De Fosto's Firestorm, arranged by Leon 'Smooth' Edwards. Look out for the spectacular synchronization of pan and pyrotechnics on the hookline 'firestorm' towards the end of the arrangement.

This Trinidad All Stars rendition of De Fosto's 'Firestorm' at the 2002 Panorama finals has to earn the distinction of one of the finest performances ever, in the annals of Panorama history. Leon 'Smooth' Edwards , leader and arranger of this magnificent and well disciplined Steel Orchestra, is the consummate master at his craft. He has displayed the ability to interweave in the tune being played, just enough arrangement, blending in so smoothly without detracting from the theme of the musical piece. The tonal quality of the pans is so rich, resonant and clean. All the different sections of the band are clearly audible, and unlike some other bands, the rhythm section is controlled and not loud and overwhelming.

Trinidad All Stars Steel Orchestra has already amassed several Panorama Championships, and will continue to do so in years to come, for they have the winning formula.
