I know there were Johannesburg Fascinators Steelband Called " Fascinators" (Fancy Sailors) and "DEM" Fortune Steelband (Fancy Seebees) all from belmont
I know of a black middle class fancy seabees Belmont band that lots of civil servants played in called Demfortunates not Dem Fascinators. I don't know if Fascinators steel band played the music for Demfortunates
Is it that Johannesburg Fascinators and Dem Fascinators the same Band for I've heard the both names already but here it looks like 2 names for the same Band.?

I 'm hearing Fascinators as the sentiments associated with 'dance with my father again' come wafting through. My father always played fancy Seabees mas with Johannesburg circa the late 50s and clear as daylight I am seeing my siblings in the bleachers looking out for him to hand him a drink and some pelau and see his mas for the first time as the band heads for the stage.I love the Carnival memories this song evokes. Wow!
