  •   I consider Jonathan Scales to be probably the most innovative young jazz panist out there today.

Note that I didn't say best, since there are quite a few great jazz panists around , and it would be almost impossible to select any one - at least for me.

But this San Francisco born , North Carolina resident is extremely talented, and brings a fresh new sound and direction to pan music, and I've been very impressed with his work.

On the subject of "foreigners". arranging for panorama, and the future of steelband music,  I cannot help but wonder what a musical mind such as this would do, using a full size, hundred person panorama steelband as a musical canvas to create musical art.

Of course, based on the opinions and  sentiments expressed here, I doubt that would ever happen.

  • Another dimension of the capabilities of  panmusic exploration, aforded through the different musical thropes.
