As I say, pan is people, passion, music, creativity, opportunity...etc. Take anything out and you have a problem. The judges must hear what the panman/musician has to express out of his full creative being and what he wants to express, not tell him directly or indirectly what to play and how to play it. Understand it first then judge it.
Pandemonium, like all the bands of that era, was playing for the people, rolling down the track. Sweet pan all the way.
In 84 bands were still being judged during prelims, playing while moving down the 'drag" , so this would most likely have been recorded on the move.
IMHO , the sweetest, best , most raw ,most real carnival pan ever played ,(even by yours truly) was during that period , when bands went down the drag in full force.
Probably tied with the J'ouvert morning bomb competitions of that era , when bands also came out in full force.
