After winning 5 (with canopies) panoramas prior, they decided to remove the canopies. (Panic Move) Their assessment was that it would enhance clarity.  The real reason was that the Volcano had erupted earlier, hence blowing away those canopies.That musical lava slowly mowed down the other combatants.

I remember watching this 1991 Renegades performance on VHS and later a member of renegades was asked why the band removed its canopies. I cannot quote the exact answer the member gave, but he said something about sound bouncing back and causing distortion.
