Phase II Pan Groove performs for the judges at Panorama Preliminaries 2018. Their tune of choice is titled "Hello", composed by Kees Dieffenthaller & Kit Israel, sung by 'Kes". The arranger for this orchestra is Len "Boogsie" Sharpe.

I think Phase 2 has the best interpretation of the song, and they were well short of the allotted 8 minutes so there's enough room for improvement, Skiffle sounded good also but i'm no sure how much more can be done to the arrangement.. Duvone did a great job with Renegades and they're very well rehearsed, if anything maybe just a little too much dramatics it takes away from the flow of the music.
My biggest question is why are the judges still being so kind to Silver stars and All stars, I have nothing personal against :"Smooth" or "Liam" they're both great arrangers but it seems like the music has left them behind and I had both of them way down the field behind Exodus, Starlift and La Brea Nightingales after prelims.
All things considered it's nice music this year.
Can someone please convince Pan Trinbago to only allow single pan bands to play old compositions, these arrangers are getting lazy and just recycling the same songs every year we're tired of hearing Lorraine, Stranger and Pan in A minor, we cannot forever live in the past!
I am certain that Boogsie encouraged Kes to do just what he did and it worked! The atmosphere was electric and Kes was able to play the crowd and whip them up. The players loved it but never lost concentration and focus. I am sorry you were not there in the panyard in person to experience that performance to the fullest.
It's just the prelims and the level of music from most of the bands has already surpassed last year's contributions.
As for the guy critical of Sharpe for choosing a conventional soca he clearly has no knowledge of pan or panorama to say the least, the arrangers have clearly stepped up their game, maybe it's just me but i'm not feeling any of the Ultimate Rejects songs on pan yet, it will probably grow on me as I listen some more.
'HELLO', the pannist say 'THIS IS THE YEAR FOR LOVE', and it 'FULL OF VYBES', but when the arrangers put down the music it's like LIGHTNING FLASH and it 'SWEET FUH SO' 'IN THE FESTIVAL' !!!!
The person dancing infront the band is Kes, co-writer and singer of the song. It is not unusual for the vocalist of the Panorama song to be invited by the band to give support.
Leiba, that is the composer and singer of the tune being played. Ray, you are right, that other comment and nothing is the same. Great music, Boogsie, well done Phase!
Who the hell is this guy jumping in front of the band? These guys like their 15 minutes of fame. I find it irritating when people go in front of the band.

Very nice on my second listen, Skiffle's got a slight edge. Should be very interesting going fwd in tussle with Renegades and other front runners.
I believe Phase 2 will win the panorama competition 2018, this arrangement is too sweet.

Good luck to all the bands and arrangers.

Oswald,
Thank you. I thought he was somebody. However, he still needs to keep his tail quiet.

Phase II sounds good!

Michael when someone makes a comment like that. It is not worth responding to
