  • Cecil...Times have changed. The pan Players are children...All the Men are in New York and Los Angeles. A complete bass rack weighs over 80lbs. The other youths are running behind the DJ trucks, because they like the power of the music and the speed of the trucks. The mature people are saving their knees to follow the band with their children who are playing for the few hours. After Jou'vert that's it. They can't wake up for the Monday evening play.

  • Reminds me of how pan used to sound in T&T on Carnival Days.
  • SWEET MEMORIES!! THIS PEROID STILL REPRESENT THE "HILITE OF MY LIFE" WHEN THIS WAS TAKING PLACE , I WAS JUST TWENTY YEARS OLD I AM NOW 71"...I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO THANK "THE CREATOR" AND MR HUGH BORDE".....FOR THE GOLDEN"OPPORTUNITY THEY HAVE GIVEN ME,  ( BETER LATE THAN NEVER)

KNOLLY SMITH......(PRESIDENT OF QUEBEC STEELPAN MUSIC ASSOCIATION.....(MONTREAL CANADA)...

  • Hey mecca of pan TNT.  Bring back the large bands on the road!  Hello to John Hodge! in the engine room.

  • This is where I became a pan and carnival addict 50 years ago.  Been to St. Thomas Carnival at least 25 times.

You can't believe the sound of Rising Stars as they wind their way downtown narrow streets with buildings on each side.  The sound enters through your skin and your whole body.  There are about 30-40 pannists per trailer.

  • Nothing like this in the Mecca of Pan, ah wonder why?
