This statement comes on the heels of the expression of disdain by some segments of the population.

I could make a good guess as to which "segments of the population" was having the HISSY FIT!!!

  • Ah hear People's Parliament opening on Friday in Woodford Square!!

  • Rowley sending his goons to home invade and slash Indian throats and to kidnap them for ransom and everybody blind to that. But Mario make ah little boast about SYRIAN POWER and that is top of the news.

What a country!!! What a people!!!

    • Claude you dont want to come back home, eh?!!

      • Ayesha: First class ticket!!! Best hotel in the city -- room with a view!!! Three young girls in the room of chosen creed and race!!! Dinner with the SABGAS!!! And the TWO IMPORTED LUXURY VEHICLES that KEITH DIAZ import at my disposal with a chaffereur -- and ah REFUSING ALL DAT!!!

        LOL!!!

    • "Rowley" you say?...wow...yuh more dangerous than I thought bro...

      • merrytonestothebone: Just like how you can give all dem lectures on MUSIC -- I could give lectures on CRIME IN TRINIDAD. And just as you say that you want to cut back on the forum input and move on to other things, I flip a coin every day (for years) about going and setting up my own website on CRIME IN TRINIDAD. So you are very insightful to use the word "dangerous" because as much as I have lived away for so long -- CRIME IN TRINDIAD bothers me, greatly. Principally because in the mid to late sixties -- because of where I lived -- I was in a position to see the SEEDS OF CRIME being planted for political gain ... and the country ran TRUE TO FORM after that. Beyond what I could have projected, though. So it is even MORE PAINFUL.

You are NOT the ONLY ONE who could KEEP IT REAL!!!

On the other side of the coin, my hope for the GLOBALIZATION of PAN MUSIC keeps me on this forum in the long shot dream that I may some day make the right connections and get a team going to take PAN MUSIC to the world. I will go so far as to tell you that I have reached out to the ISF hoping that I could find some common ground with them to move the music GLOBALLY. But I know better. Because the bridge between the EXPAT thinking and the LOCAL THINKING brings the Rudyard Kipling quote to mind: East is East and West is West and never the twain shall meet!!!

In our case is: Local minds are local minds and Expat minds are Expat minds and never the twain shall meet!!!

I love the MUSIC in my own inventive way. And as I have said so many times on this forum: My dream is to be driving down some isolated highway on the West USA some day and flipping radio channels only to hear a piece of PAN or SOCA flavoured music jumping out of the speakers -- having CROSSED OVER.

Boy, me and you could have a NICE LONG TALK if I ever came back to Trinidad. But I will never take that ASAMI RISK and come back to that island only to have dem ROWLEY GOONS kill me!!!

Many times I have made a "joke" telling Aquil and Gregory that if they hire me as a political consultant I could get rid of KEITH DIAZ -- it was not really a joke because it ties in to this discussion in many ways.

You ain't the ONLY ONE who could keep it real!!!

        • Ah Claude boy...yuh better than ah thought...Ah cyah believe ah fell for it...later bro...

  • Mi Amigo and C H, NO ONE, should be made to APOLOGIZE, for anything they say, words are expression of thought, and what, you're going to tell someone not to think ? that's total madness, where it is written in the very 1st US Constitution that, Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievance, and the 14th Freedom of thought and expression, and the 16th Freedom of the press Constitution of Trinidad & Tobago, prohibiting anyone from speaking is a violation of everyone's lawful rights to speak.and, it is punishable fine by law, that was why when "Bugs" said to me that I should apologize to Durant, which I found was disrespectful to me, I said to myself what ???  NEVER GONNA HAPPEN...

    • JJJ...bad manners is nothing to wish to be famous for...

      • merrytonetothebone, you don't know what bad manners are, I saw you doing the same shit sometime back when you was doing pan theory using a keyboard chart, the reason you think I have bad manners it's because you were never there, when the police use to be chasing/running us down and beating us for making noise on the tin pans, while we were trying to perfect the instrument, that U, now have the luxury of enjoying, and if I see the instrument being exploited, it is MY RIGHT to say whatever I damn well please, I also acknowledge that you're an expert on being me, and I also see and know that the TRUTH offends you can't handle the truth, that's because you young whipper snappers, has a habit of disrespecting your elders, and as far as fame is concern, that's something I never cared anything about, people used to tell me, so you was on the Ed Sullivan Show ? I say would yeah, but that's nothing, what was I doing on the show, they would say, beating pan, and I'd say that's Y I was there, it's all about the pan merrytonetothebone, all your bad manners is just B.S...
