I don't understand how PEOPLE could have grown up in TRINIDAD and NOT UNDERSTAND The Right Honourable Keith Diaz. In a way it is just like how I confuse a lot of people on this forum by NOT BEING A PAN MUSIC LOVER and calling most of the PAN MUSIC I hear: NOISE!!! It does force Glenroy Joseph to ask if Claude grow up in Trinidad and if he even ever hear ah pan play on Carnival day with people pushing -- back in the SIXTIES.
But getting back to the subject of the morning which was stimulated by this question: Should he [KEITH DIAZ] be using that position [PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD OF PAN] for the benefit of the steelband fraternity? written by a HIGH MAN in TRINIDAD SOCIETY.
I see people from ALL WALKS OF EDUCATION come on this forum and misread THE RIGHT HONOURABLE KEITH DIAZ. And I have tried for years to provide an accurate psychological profile of THE MAN for this forum and NOBODY has ever gotten it. As much as people are confused that I don't like PAN MUSIC -- I am confused that nobody in the whole wide world of T&T and the diaspora could understand KEITH DIAZ when there is really very little complexity to this man.
Beverley and the NEW VISIONARIES and EXPATS and LOCALS and THE CIP and AQUIL ARRINDELL and GREGORY LINDSAY and KENNY DE SILVA (he even loss he big job because of the RIGHT HONOURABLE) -- all read the man wrong and ended up in the KEITH DIAZ CEMETERY. Now, truth be told, I know that there are HANDFUL OF PEOPLE in Trinidad who UNDERSTAND the RIGHT HONOURABLE KEITH DIAZ. And truth be continued to be told -- I have had some LOCAL INPUT (over the years) putting my profile together. So it is not like I am the ONLY MAN in the world who could read KEITH DIAZ.
But when a HIGHLY EDUCATED man like RUSSELL PROVIDENCE (with all dem stacks of degrees) come on this forum and use the words "benefit of the steelband fraternity" and "KEITH DIAZ" in the SAME SENTENCE and GREGORY LINDSAY and AQUIL ARRINDELL failed so disgracefully in dislodging THIS MAN from his CORRUPT SEAT OF POWER ... look, is best ah go back and listen to SKIFFLE and BOOGSIE and leave THE RIGHT HONOURABLE IN PEACE to HANDLE the GATE RECEIPTS come SUNDAY!!!
Sometime last year I posted a discussion entitled SUCCESSION PLANNING, relative to that post, when I look at the video shared by the initiator of this discussion, contrary to the point the esteemed contributor may be intending to convey, I see the leadership of the steelband movement playing to the cameras. I see a CADRE of old men, a CABAL of senior citizens, pensioners.
This is how the "Economic Times" defines SUCCESSION PLANNING from a human resource management perspective:
"Succession Planning, specifically termed as Management Succession Planning, involves coaching and development of prospective successors or people within a firm or from outside to take up key positions in an organisation through an organized process of assessment and training.
It ensures a smooth transition of power in key leadership roles. If the successor is chosen within the organisation, it will help motivate the employees, and also save on cost and extra time which the management would have spent in scanning candidates from other firms.

Is it unreasonable to conclude that Pan Trinbago is being streamlined to go to the grave with the current custodians?
When one considers the fate of sovereignties like Iraq and Libya in the not too distant past, although governed efficiently (in my opinion) by the deposed dictators, considering the proliferation of differences of opinion, cultures, sects, ethnicities (tribes), not unlike the make up of the local steelband fraternity, and the ensuing chaotic situations on their demise, i foresee similarities playing out in the local steelband fraternity in the not too distant future.
I firmly believe that Keith Diaz's ability to hold on to control of the leadership of the steelband movement is unparalleled. Should he be using that position for the benefit of the steelband fraternity?

Dear Mr. Bugs: Right after the PANORAMA we will convene a meeting and table your suggestions. But right now we are fully engaged in producing a SUCCESSFUL PANORAMA 2018. So my head is hot. As you know, they cut my budget by 3M$ and they still expect me to produce a WORLD CLASS SHOW. The good news is that I am back in control of the GATE RECEIPTS and in these tough economic times -- thank THE LORD and thank THE JUDGE.
And I am thinking that as tough and stressful as it is managing this MAJOR EVENT on such a limited budget -- I deserve a ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND $$$ HONORARIUM this time around. Make sure you get a TALL and HANDSOME guy to play MY ROLE in your MOVIE.
