Global - Many came to celebrate and pay homage to the vibrant life and achievements of Grammy-winner and steelband enthusiast Ralph MacDonald, at the historic Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, USA. The steelpan music fraternity was well represented at his send off, which included a farewell serenade by ace steelpan musician Robert Greenidge as part of the musical tributes offered at the service.

Beginning a little after 10:00 a.m. MacDonald was honored through music, the spoken word and with the presence of the likes of Grammy award winner Roberta Flack, bassist Will Lee (David Letterman Show), vocalist Dennis Collins, jazz flutist Bobbi Humphrey, Etienne Charles, record exec Jerome Gasper and so many others.

  • I Remember all the good times I had in the ninties liming with "Ralph Mc Donald" he was a friend of " Desperadoes.Steelband"......of which I was and still is a member off,........he is dead and gone but not forgotten!!
