Extempo legend Winston 'Gypsy' Peters
National Carnival Commission (NCC) chairman Winston “Gypsy” Peters has said the NCC cannot get involved in Pan Trinbago's internal affairs.
He said: “It is unfortunate, but that is how it is right now, we just have to sit and wait it out.”
On Pan Trinbago staff not being paid, as well as salaries and outstanding debts to bands and players, Peters said: “The NCC can’t release any funds, because we don’t know who to pay and what are we paying for. We cannot do anything about that, because it seems like nobody is in charge right now.”

Statements aspiring leaders of the movement must respond too. Those in the wings with ambitions of occupying 14-17 Park Street, Port of Spain, must be able to authoritatively tell the chairman of the NCC that he is incorrect on one of the most burning issues. A former UNC minister of culture and the arts, the first man responsible for unilaterally cutting panmen's meager remittance, cannot be the the best person to suggest any disagreeable proposal, as his track record suggests, that when appointed to decision making positions relating to pan, his adjudications are not in the best interest of the panman,.
I strongly suspect that there are experienced, qualified steel bands men, who can authoritatively tell the Extempo King how that disbursement can be expedited in a manner consistent with good accounting practices, transparently, and with no issues of accountability.

Nice One, Mr. Mercer!!! But PAN TRINBAGO is a POLITICAL ARM OF THE PNM. So do you really think that DOCTOR DOLLY and LUCAS and GYPSY will touch that apple cart full of votes and alienate one side or the other?
Do you think that they brought PAN TRINBAGO into this world so that they could TAKE DEM OUT and lose some of the 350,000 votes that PAN TRINBAGO controls?
The only thing dumber than that would be MICKELA forming ah next Indian Party and splitting the votes to leave Rowley in office for the next 12 years and having the MURDER RATE hit 1000 a year.
So go back to your MOTHER BOOK of SAYINGS and find ah more appropriate one than that!!!
