CONCERNED Pan Lovers (CPL) have produced a petition aimed at securing support to remove the executive of Pan Trinbago. The decision to do so was taken at a meeting held on Tuesday.
CPL is seeking to get 60 percent delegates that represent the membership of the pan fraternity to sign the petition by next week.
Attached to the petition is a document outlining the issues which has led to them having no confidence in the Pan Trinbago executive.
Spokesperson for CPL Dane Gulston told Newsday, “The meeting, post Carnival 2017, was not about Panorama but rather a group of individuals who came together for the love of pan.” Among the attendees were three former executives of Pan Trinbago, Aquil Arrindell (education officer), Cindy Rosemin (assistant secretary) and Bryon Serrette (vice-president), two sitting regional chairmen Gerard Mendez and Carlon Harewood, Keith Simpson (Tripolians), Michael Marcano (bp Renegades) and Gulston (Massy All Stars).
A series of regional meetings have been planned for next week, at which time there will be discussions on Panorama 2017 and other issues as well as the presentation of the petition for signatures.
According to the constitution of Pan Trinbago, the term of the present executive will come to an end on October 2018. However Gulston said there is a provision which members can use for the removal of the executive.

80% of pan players in the Mecca are youth and incredible 50 % of pan players are females. I do hope that the educated and musically qualified young people get involved because for years Pan Trinbago have been run by old heads. This is 2017 and a new technological era . I could see young people like Venessa Headley of Small Band Golden Hands and Theo Cato from Pamberri with the vocal leader of Power Stars Gregory Lindsay running for office . We definitely need a new vision so that Panorama will not have to end at 3 am in the morning and the Single pan will not have to perform in front of empty stands.
I cannot see why anyone will want to take over the affairs of Pan Trinbago, they are an organization in deep trouble.

As far as I am concerned he has been allied with Diaz for more than ten years (although their relationship became sour in 2015) and has been an important part of the decision-making for Pan Trinbago. His complicity with Diaz and others to defraud pan players should not be underestimated, nor excused..
Not only should he and the other members of the Central Executive step down (or be removed), they should be banned from holding any office in Pan Trinbago in the future.

Gregory Lindsay went in a meeting with KEITH DIAZ and supposedly came out with an agreement with KEITH DIAZ for KEITH DIAZ and his executive to voluntarily relinquish their positions in PAN TRINBAGO on some 90-day plan. KEITH DIAZ never intended to keep that promise -- while Gregory was running all over town celebrating victory over KEITH DIAZ.
Gregory Lindsay is now selling more FAKE NEWS that he could get 60 percent of the steelband delegates to vote KEITH DIAZ out of office. Really??? NOT even FIFTY PERCENT!!! Me and Keith Diaz done lock up 65% of that vote since 2009!!
