  • what happen to the player is it working

  • I guess it was too much for the player to cope with… it’s been loading for the last hour and nothing.

  • Sweet Eustace
I was just saying compared to last year, which was a shorter preparation time for Pan. Most not all were sounding disorganized. Do not get me wrong there were the exception to the rules in 4th Dimension who sounded outstanding. However, when you have single pans sounding tighter and more focused than a medium conventional band you really have to wonder if they should be in the competing at all just to spare the judges having to sit through lengthy imperfect performances.

  • ah spankin in d minor it sweet, it sweet, them 2 song is the dangerous song this year

  • Martin I beg to differ on the engine room, I want to big them up they are well organized  it is the only aspect of panorama that has moved up a few notches, compared to the old days when there  was a one  size fit all run a the  mill playing "kirpalani kirpalani" on double iron, single was 1/8 notes, some1/16 and cutters paraddles, no variations basically they were just time keepers now they are accompanying the rest of the band, the loudness is the recording and location of mics, glad to see them slowing down now, and phew the exessive chromatics so far seems to have been pensioned off, bye chromatics, don't come back soon

  • I have been trying to listen to the pan with the hope it would get better, but it seems to me the arrangers have given up and chosen the easy route, the endless stream of old tunes is killing panorama. Even the tune spanking from this year is such a throwback to the early 80’s, it makes you wonder if anyone would pay to attend this at all. I certainly would not want to sit for hours listening to the rubbish being dished out by many of the bands. Some of the bands sound unrehearsed; disjointed and confused it seems like I am listening to pan in it’s inception. Even the single pans, seem to sound better than the small and medium bands. So much emphasis is being placed on the cymbals of the drummer it is almost drowning out the pan itself. This year is not finished but I can predict if next year is anything like this there would be even less people attending this embarrassment of Trinidad pan.

  • Michael, I agree with your comment about the impact of  30 more seconds as opposed to  30 more players. However, be reminded that recently players were removed from a big East band just before their final night performance and the matter went to court. I believe the band won the court matter and PANTrinbago had to pay.

  • Ian, I agree with the 30 seconds rule. Panorama is about creativity while the time limit is about management of the show. So whereas I understand the need for a time limit so that the show doesn't drag on for hours and hours, one also doesn't want to stifle creativity by the imposition of to many restrictions. In any event, do we really believe a band can gain any significant advantage by an additional 30 seconds? ..By an additional 30 players yes (not 30 seconds) and yet there are no prescribed penalties for exceeding the permissible maximum number of players - and there are bands that exceed the limit by more than 30 players.

  • Hello Michaele we have to wait for the final leg to be completed. The final leg is today's South Zone. Let's hope the results will be available within the 48 hours.

  • QUESTION !

What were the scores?  Is this list..just 6 who were chosen to be aired for our listening pleasure,

or are these the top 6..?  Who 'won'  # 1--6?

I am not hearing any announcement of these details.

From what I have heard...in my opinion...Carib Woodbrook Playboyz  were nice & tight,

and La Creole Pan Groove were strong, & ALL ACES strong, too.

HOW DO I SEE THE RESULTS?

    this the prelim  order
