The event drew a large crowd of friends and supporters who were anxious to meet and shake hands with this musical genius, including Mr. Barnet "Preacher" Henry, calypso singer of the hit tune "Jump and Wine".

Plenty of good Trini foods were served along with Trini beverages. Most of the music played was from a collection of Robbie's greatest hits. A plaque was presented to Mr. Greenidge on behalf of The Trini Posse with the inscription "The Sweetest Hands on Pan".

Mr. Greenidge thanked the gathering for the surprise party and expressed his gratitude for the love showered on him.

May God Bless You, Robbie

  • I am very happy to read the many comments about the "Gala" that was showered on Mr. Robert Greenidge.

God Almighty has given to man the gift of LIFE, then he has also given to all human beings the gift of many

talents. Some people chooses to do nothing worth while, others choose to exceed in areas that blows our

minds away. They are in a class by them selves, that's where Mr, Robert Greenidge stands when it comes

to playing the 'Steel Pan'. This is a gift from God. I know and admire many other great pan players the world

over, they also have that gift from the Creator above. What the 'Trini Posse' did in honoring Mr. Greenidge

was a small token of our Love and Appreciation for his contribution to this great art form 'The Steel Pan

    music'.

Thanks again Robbie blessings and good health.

  • Nothing less could have been expected from a Priestess and A Don. ... Great way to honour a living legend. Nuff respect

  •  Congratulations Robbie on that well deserved Honor!  Hats off to Lynette Rocke and Don Clarke. Thanks Lynette   "The Priestess" for the opportunity to speak to Robbie on this grand occasion.

  • What a lovely surprise ... and so very deserved. Congratulations Robbie!

  • This is the Priestess. When I first heard Robert's From The Heart CD, I was mesmerized. it is so beautiful. I travel with it. He absolutely deserved what we did for him. Wish we could've done more. He is also such a humble and beautiful soul. God Bless You Robbie.

  • Nothing but the best for the best. Nice gesture by the group, in appreciation of a great panist.
