VICTOR PROVOST

VICTOR PROVOST

Pittsburgh—With the release of his newest album, “Bright Eyes,” renown steelpan musician, Victor Provost will perform throughout the country with his band.

His stop in Pittsburgh to perform at James Street Gastropub on Friday, Oct. 21 will be followed by a workshop for students and families. On Saturday Oct. 22 Victor will join Barrels to Beethoven founder, Leigh Solomon Pugliano to discuss his experience playing and teaching about the steelpan, performing with some of the greatest jazz musicians, and share techniques and tips to steelpan students to improve their skills.

“I’m excited to release my new album, “Bright Eyes” on Sunnyside/Paquito records. I had the pleasure of recording with some of my best friends and musical heroes. And now I’ll be bringing my music to audiences,” said Victor Provost.

The workshop will take place at the Ace Hotel in East Liberty. A great venue for engaging community events. This family event is open to the public with all area steelpan students invited as special guests. The event will include a #letsplaypan area where guests can try the instruments and receive a quick lesson as well as learn more about Barrels to Beethoven’s mission and programs

“We are so excited to partner with Victor Provost for this event. We are grateful for our relationships with the larger steelpan community and are happy to host someone so talented and dedicated to the steelpan to educate audiences here in Pittsburgh. We are looking forward to the concert on Friday and workshop on Saturday.”–Leigh Solomon Pugliano, Founder, Barrels to Beethoven
