Carib Parlor Notes
This pioneering artist in-formance is a music and art series that transforms the interview
format. The visually stimulating and intimate setting is designed to give listeners access to
the featured performer in the embrace of a cozy Brooklyn parlor. In this way, the artist and
musicians share the spotlight with a small audience. The experience opens with a live
concert immediately followed by facilitated conversation. Those curious thoughts and
questions you were stimulated to ask can be clarified in this relaxed exchange of artist and
audience. It is also a unique opportunity for young audiences to interact with and be
introduced to the works of established and emerging artists.
Carib Parlor Notes is a collaborative, curatorial effort from Ron Reid Music and Caribnb
(Terah and Hazel Beckles-Younglao). This initiative proposes to stimulate a forum for
exposure and sharing among artists, thinkers, creators, educators, and the broader
community.
