The sound of the steelpan will ring out on Friday December 20, 2019 at the St. James Amphitheatre & Park, Western Main Road, St. James, when the St James CIC presents a Christmas gift of music titled 'Holiday Sounds on Steel – Christmas In De Park,' from 7:00 pm.

Taking centre stage will be Oval Teens and Sapophonics Steel Orchestras, and St. James’ own DJ Jeffrey who will be spinning seasonal favourites, inclusive of traditional carols, parang and parang/soca.

The event is the third annual Christmas concert series organised by the St. James Community Improvement Committee (CIC). Admission is free to the public.

The Amphitheatre will  reflect the mood of the season, fitted out, as it will be, with appropriate Christmas decorations. The organisation is extending an invitation to members of the community, and others, to attend the family-friendly programme that is intended to bring seasonal cheer to St James.

The St. James CIC is a NGO which serves the needs of the community, one of which is the promotion of cultural activities to include in-house entertainment on holidays, and national events.

This year’s event will be staged under a new Board of Directors comprising Anthony Ferguson (President), Angela A, Fox (Vice-President), Sharon Britt (Secretary), Anthony Alleng (Treasurer), David Cuffy (Public Relations).

Attendees are allowed to walk with their chairs and coolers.
