The brain child of Merry Tones' Musical Director, Kendal Lewis, the Learn To Play Pan course was first introduced back in 1987. This course is mainly for beginners and caters to age groups 8 to 80.

This very informative pan tuition programme covers Grade 1 and 2 rudiments and theory of music, pan playing techniques, and some history of the steelband movement. The main ingredient in the pan playing techniques class is Kendal Lewis' unique 'handing' method. A method devised over his many years of playing and coaching on the steelpan, Kendal's handing style simplifies execution of the most challenging musical pieces and aids in transforming even seasoned pannists into well-rounded players.

Cost of tuition: $TT150.00. The programme runs over 2 semesters, resuming in September 2013.
