Two months have passed since Asami passed away. Among the people who knew her and among the people who were her friends, Asami lives on in their heart. They still feel her.

We know how Asami loved Trinidad. We know how she was absorbed in Steelpan which was born in Trinidad. We know how much she was moved by the panorama vibes when she was on stage.

All of her friends living in Japan also know how Asami was loved by the people of Trinidad. Trinidad put her music life into a trance. That was almost a miracle.

We are going to finally 'Play One For Asami'. I am going to play her song 'dreaming girl' with her pan family, the Codringtons. We will play with our whole heart.

From Asami to Trinidad and Tobago: "I could feel the music here which I couldn't create! This country is just great!!!"

P.S. I will really appreciate your support to hold a memorial service for our dear friend. For all of you who loved Asami, I would like you to join us in this ceremony.

  • Sadly I will not be able to attend but would like her friends and family - in Trinidad and Japan - that my thoughts and prayers will be with you all on this difficult but special occasion.
