  • Location: National Sawdust
  • Latest Activity: Mar 4

The 2016 National Sawdust Percussion Festival brings together some of the world’s finest percussionists across all genres for one 5-hour celebration of all things percussion. Curated by Andy Akiho and Ian Rosenbaum, the Festival features a wide array of music: classics by Steve Reich, improvisations by Jason Treuting, experimental music by Mark Applebaum, a world premiere by Andy Akiho, and much more. We will also feature a few incredible non-percussionists in their percussive collaborations (former cellist of the Kronos Quartet Jeffrey Zeigler and Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient Kristin Lee). The festival will feature an intimate setting with the artists playing short sets and the audience being encouraged to interact with the performers and come and go to shows as they please.
