Kids, families, and anyone with a love for Caribbean culture are in for a treat at the Panorama steel band competition London event. Held in Horniman's Pleasance Park, the big live music event takes place just before the 2013 Notting Hill Carnival.

A suitable warm up for the colourful parades and live music associated with the famous Notting Hill Carnival, the Panorama steel band competition London event at Horniman's Pleasance Park features a day of competitions, activities for children and Caribbean culture. A number of steel pan bands will go head to head in the championships in an attempt to be crowned number one.

Taking place a day before the Kids' Day at the Notting Hill Carnival, the Panorama steel band competition London event is bound to be popular with families, with plenty of activities for children. 35th anniversary
2013 sees the 35th anniversary of the Panorama steel band competition London event, and Horniman's Pleasance Park is expected to come alive once again with calypso and soca music from a full steel pan orchestra. Over 5,000 spectators are expected to attend the event and enjoy live music from bands who have travelled from all over the UK to take part in the championships.

The Panorama steel band competition London event takes place from 6pm (though you can hear them practicing around 3pm), Saturday 24th August 2013. Admission is free.
