The Sion Hill Euphonium Steel Orchestra will tomorrow, Saturday October 27, host a Pan Jamboree at the Sion Hill Intersection.
The Pan Jamboree, which is set to commence at 1pm, will take the form of an open air musical concert featuring three other steel orchestra.
Visiting steel bands – South East Steel Orchestra, the Starlift Steel Orchestra and the newly formed – Epic Steel Orchestra, will join the host band, filling the air with their sweet renditions on pan.
Chair of the Sion Hill Euphonium Steel Orchestra – Warren Knights said that tomorrow’s Pan Jamboree is in keeping with the organisation’s mandate to keep the band alive all year round.
He also opined that it is an outlet for the other bands to do the same.
According to Knights, the jamboree is the Sion Hill Euphonium’s way of celebrating this country’s 39th anniversary of Independence.
The 37-year-old Sion Hill Steel Orchestra, at this year’s Vincy Mas, copped the senior Panorama title for the eight time.
