The Skiffle Steel Orchestra is no stranger to the concert circuit.  Throughout their years, they have toured several continents performing in countless high profile engagements and have earned the respect of the Global Pan Community.  Most significant among their many achievements was capturing the inaugural World Steelband Festival Title of 2000. In more recent times, having concluded a successful 2013 Carnival Season, placing 5th in the Conventional Large Band Category of the National Panorama Final and reaffirming their reign as "King of the Road" capturing first place in every steelpan competition held in the city of San Fernando on Carnival Monday and Tuesday, the Skiffle Steel Orchestra embarked on a feat that could only be described as unprecedented in the Pan Community.  This feat to which is referred was to prepare, within three weeks, straight out of a hectic Carnival Season, a full length concert entitled "Skiffle Through the Years".  On this note, the band did not disappoint the south patrons as they left them astounded by their energetic performance and evocative musical renditions of signature pieces such as Coffee Street by Andy Narell, Pan in A minor by Liam Teague, How Great Thou Art by Len Boogsie Sharpe, Pan in the 21st Century 2009 winning piece arranged by Keith Salcido - Georgia on My Mind, Nessun Dorma from the Puccini's Opera - Turandot and All I Ask of You from the Phantom of the Opera to name a few. The audience was also treated to a cadre of well-known local vocal artists such as multi-National Music Festival Champions Turon Nicholas and Edward Cumberbatch, former Children of Mastana Bahar Champion - Nadia Madoo & Calypso King - Black Stalin (Dr. Leroy Calliste) accompanied by the newly formed Skiffle Brass Orchestra. Due to the overwhelming demand, the Skiffle Steel Orchestra has decided to take the concert to the people of Port-of-Spain and the environs as they will host the "Skiffle Through the Years" at the Queens Hall Theatre on Saturday 17th August, 2013 which off course will be packed with added attractions such as pan virtuoso - Ray Holman and many many more!!!
