Join SoMiSPO (Southern Miss Steel Pan Orchestra) on a journey through the infectious grooves of Caribbean music. SoMiSPO performs calypsos, socas, cha-cha-chas, sambas, and funk steel pans - an instrument from Trinidad and Tobago that has a sweet, sweet, sweet relaxing sound. We will be featuring Southern Miss alum Dr. Brian Cheeseman on Afro-Cuban percussion.
The show will open up with music from the Fresh Pans of Bel-Air, a young and exciting steel band project from the University of Southern Miss.
