Caribbean Steelpan Connextion Ensemble will be hosting their inaugural Carnival Monday steelpan lime at Pandemonium Steel Orchestra Theatre, Belmont.

Themed, "The World on Steel (Part 1)" the initiative boasts of a stellar international cast, inclusive of Mathieu Bourne and Eva Goldstein of Calypsociation (France), Mika Ai and Jai-an Sakamoto (Japan), Andre White (New York), Len "Boogsie" Sharpe, the Codrington Pan Family, Triston Marcano and others.

According to TeamCSC, the main purpose of the event is to raise capital for the production and marketing of an album. This includes costs that will be incurred with legal services, the tuning of instruments, studio time as well as the development of a website and merchandise.

The group is also hopeful that the event will become an annual meeting place for steelpan musicians and lovers, after the hectic rigour of the Panorama season.

According to Assistant Manager and Team Lead, Andre Robley, "the concert is also meant to showcase the versatility of the steelpan as it relates to the different experiences of our friends. As an example, we will learn more about its interpretation in Japan and how it is used to express emotions in what is traditionally, a private yet aesthetic culture."

Kwesi Paul, (co-arranger) also mentioned that the team will perform teasers from their collective and individual studio projects.

The concert will begin at 6pm until 11pm.
