In Oct. 1962, Richard Craig started Canada's first steel band - "The Trade Winds". Using pans sent from Trinidad, the band played many engagements around it's home town of Edmonton, AB. Radio and TV shows, concerts, club shows and an LP record kept the band busy. This weekend marks the 50th year since the "Trade Winds"disbanded. Six original members and their families have planned a weekend of festivities to celebrate the occasion. Edmonton's "Cariwest" is also having an anniversary - 30 years. It all starts Aug. 8 in Edmonton!
