The University of South Carolina Upstate will host a Jazz Night at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the USC Upstate Studio Theatre, which is located in the Humanities and Performing Arts Center on campus.

The USC Upstate Jazz Combo will perform the music of Miles Davis, including not only the jazz legend's compositions but also songs he performed and made his own. The USC Upstate Guitar Ensemble will perform jazz and pop from such artists as Horace Silver, Antonio Carlos Jobim and The Beatles.

The program will also feature a rousing performance by Asheville, N.C.-based steel pan fusion artist Jonathan Scales, who will play his original music with the USC Upstate faculty and then join the Upstate ensembles for a selection or two.

The concert is free for students and faculty with valid USC Upstate ID and $5 for the public. Tickets are available at the box office.

For more information, email USC Upstate coordinator of commercial music Nolan Stolz at nstolz@uscupstate.edu.
