This GOVERNMENT dumping MONEY LIKE RAIN into developing PAN YARDS. And I know about 20 other PAN YARDS that are desperately begging for HELP right now!!!

(Ah forget the $5,000,000 a month to PAY BEVERLEY SALARY and ALLOWANCES -- and the rest of the DO NOTHING PAN TRINBAGO STAFF.)

But like ROWLEY still have a lot of doubt about the investment: “If you meet that yardstick, you would secure the future of this facility [new DESPERADOES PAN YARD]. If, on the other hand, after we spend all this money and I sweat as I am sweating now in all this ole talk, when it is built and it is concrete and galvanise and whatever else, that the report from this site, if who do what to who and who get shot here and who kill who here, this investment would have been wasted and it would fail,” the PM said.

Listen, — I remember reading years ago, some steelband’s vision, mission statement & objectives; although, not for the life of me can I remember, at this moment, the name of the steelband. I was indeed captivated by the content as I felt it encapsulated succinctly most, if not everything, the pan fraternity, all and sundry should be aspiring to achieve.

It went something like this:

Vision
To be the world’s premier, professional steel orchestra, financially independent, and universally acclaimed for the highest level of musical excellence.

Mission Statement
To achieve excellence in the art of steelband music by contributing to innovations in pan, and mastering musical arrangements, and the execution of such.

Objectives
1. The aggressive pursuit of the highest musical excellence
2. To create an economically viable organization (with a view to self sufficiency)
3. To adequately prepare members with the necessary skills for their socio-economic development
4. To perpetuate social and community improvement as a means of uplifting society at large

Ps. Would you be able to trace the veracity of the above, the steelband’s name, or perhaps, …. it was just another falsity running wild and free on the internet at the time?

    That doesn’t sound correct, Claudius.
    
    But then again, when it comes to any matters concerning pan, calypso, soca, politics, etc., I am definitely not in any position, nor do I possess the wherewithal, to contest your self-proclaimed omniscience.
    
    Notwithstanding, …. kudos, much respect, and continued success to Birdsong, especially in these enervating and harrowing pandemic times.
    
    And not to be remiss — congratulations and bravo, Desperadoes, on the acquisition of your new home.
