To reverse the Policy taken against the Panorama preliminary Funding for 2011

It is one thing to talk.....but are we ready to walk the walk....I went to google and asked the question... how to do a petition? ... I am a novice at this but I did not let it stop me from attempting this line of action. The following link will give the form of the Petition for signatures which when filled would be sent to the government of Trinidad & Tobago. THE WORDING ON THE DOCUMENT CAN BE EDITED, so please we are open for suggestions and editing before it goes to the government. This action calls for a unified body and a large quantity of signatures for effectiveness. We are calling on the 7000 WST membership to act if you believe in the cause. THIS IS NOT AN ATTACK ON THE GOVERNMENT OF TRINIDAD & TOBAGO it is merely A DEFENCE AND A STANDING UP FOR THE PAN CAUSE.

Patricia, sadly enough that is one of the problems we have with this Petition........A lot of people do not want to line up with or behind Pan Trinbago...but they are getting the issues mixed up ...the issue at hand is the Policy of the T&T government for the Panorama Preliminary Funding towards the Pan community.... the Petition was not started by Pan trinbago rather the World Pan community outside of T&T........let me put out a hypothetical question.... You may not like the present government of T&T or the PM or a minister or their policies but if another country were to attack Trinidad & Tobago and a war was declared would you say that you are not supporting the government of T&T because of your problems with this administrative government...If we have a problem with Pan trinbago,s dministration which many do .....then do like any democracy ...vote out the administration and put in another......but clearly this present issue is not about Pan trnbago and its administration...that is another issue to deal with ..but one battle at a time is better and this battle calls for the entire Pan community in Trinidad and outside of Trinidad to come together...the math is simple

Yesterday while doing an interview wth theTrinidad Express in T&T ...I was embarassed when the reporter asked me How many people have already signed the Petition....I had to literally dodge the question...it was disheartening to say we only had 255 signatures out of 6834 WST members.... IT is shameful ..but it exposes the talkers on this Forum.......maybe you are waiting for the last minute...maybe you are afraid of the political implications...maybe you don't want to be associated wih Pan trinbago or the rest of us who have signed up....maybe you just don't care about the 10,000 pan players who will pay the price ...maybe you agree with the Gypsy and the government of T&T on this issue.......but we are calling you out ...I look at the list everyday and I am not seeing many of the affluent 'Talkers'...so I am caling you out on this issue......maybe next year if the government takes away the entire amount then you will want to sign up ...because that was the intenion of the Gypsy.......STAND UP AND BE COUNTED FOR A GOOD CAUSE ....WE WILL SUCCEED.

  Hi Salah, let me add a piece to this. I once heard Margaret Thatcher spoke about the situation in the Faulkland Islands years ago. She said that when they went to Parliament about going to war over the situation, there were all sorts of opinions and ideas about why they should not. Once the decision was made to go forward with the war, EVERYBODY put aside their differences and got on board. Reason being, it was now the REPUTATION of England that was at stake. The very same princlple applies here. The petition has started, so now it is the Global Pan Fraternity's reputation that is at stake. This is going to show the world what we are made of. The outcome of this (number of signatures collected) says wether we are men or mouse. Peace!

    Foy, I hear you loud and clear.....I just came back from two newspaper interviews, one with the Trinidad Guardian and one with th Trinidad Express.......I am awaiting a call from the Trinidad Newsday.. I have also contacted two TV Stations and waiting on the schedule......I will be on WACK radio 90.1 Fm on Tuesday 25th from about 12:30pm with host Elsworth James...you can get the live stream on line....we just have to keep pushing that's all...thanks

Jerome the petition is not about about Pan-Trinbago and their adminstration. It is about RESPECT for The NATIONAL INSTRUMENT OF TRINIDAD&TOBAGO AND OUR DEDICATED PAN FRATERNITY.

As of Tuesday Jan 18th there are 6832 WST members....and 201 have signed the Petition...where are the other 6631 WST members...( M.I.A.)......you have three weeks left before the Panorama preliminaries (Single Pan begins). the pan community in T&T is depending on our International support. This support will be meaningful and will send a clear message to the Gypsy and the Government of T&T ...It will clearly say that the world is watching your actions there in Trinidad & Tobago.

M.I.A.'s you need to step up and be counted.....Take a minute off from your other talks and do the right thing with this petition......We need that Unity.
