I wish at this point, to confirm that I am not involved in Politics and do not take sides with any faction running for the office of the President of Pan Trinbago. Therefore, stakeholders should not see my recent comments as trying to support any political opponent of Mr. Keith Diaz. I am completely ignorant of how politic runs in Trinidad and will not get myself involved in that.

At this time, serious talks are being held between the company and both missions in Trinidad & Tobago and Nigeria and the two High Commissioners are working hard to ensure that ATTSDC continues to function in the interest of both countries. Once we are done with this, I will give a full statement on the outcome.

Very warm regards to all.
Chief Bowie S. Bowei
CEO, ATTSDC

  • Chief Bowei I read the Trinidad NEWSDAY Wednesday September 26, 2012, article entitled " Pan Trinbago calls for probe of Nigeria Deal" written by Joan Rampersad. It is both incredible and embarrassing that all of this transpired.  Pan Trinbago owes both you personally and the people of Trinidad and Tobago an apology for their embarrassing behavior. In spite of what has gone on it is a good thing you found out who and what you are dealing with early.

I recommend that everyone get a copy of this article and read it thoroughly. It is that important.  But the article was not accessible online, so that means a print copy of the paper is necessary.

    • Thanks Bugs, I was able to get a copy of that article. I am sure every panman and woman in Trinidad read it as it concerns them as well.

      Thanks for your genuine concern.

  • Chief Bowei do not be fooled by Keith Diaz. HE is on bended knees begging and pleading that you sweep things under the carpet or put plaster over a sore that has been festering for a long time according to the Newsday papers.

I believe you went into this well intentioned but was set up by less than honourable men, do no cut off your nose and spoil your face for these people. Let them face the music this election. If this entire transaction was above board on Pantrinbago's part their would have been no mistrust among parties involved.

I am sure the new Executive may want to do business with your company and restore Pantrinbago's cedibility in the international market.

    • Thanks for your advice. I will give a detailed statement after my meeting tomorrow with your Mission in Nigeria.

Regards to all who have contributed.

    • Mr lindsay what band do represent in Pantrinbago?

  • We, too, feel vindicated.

    This project MUST continue.

If we stumble, we must get up and carry the hammer.

    Pannicus Maximus!

    • Once more we are in the Silly Season ,just a few more days and it will be over. And the work will continue, Pan Forever.

Referencing : An exclusive interview for When Steel Talks, Mary Ehikhamenor, PA to the CEO of the Africa-Trinidad & Tobago Steelpan Development Company, Ltd. (ATTSDC) - gives insight into the situation which has led to the dissolution of the original business partnership between Pan Trinbago and Xcel Steelpan Co. Ltd., which gave rise to the ATTSDC.

WST - Was the beginning of anything, any ATTSDC project(s) implemented?  Is any initiative currently underway?

ATTSDC - “Nothing initiated by ATTSDC was carried out. All the ideas came from Xcel Steelpan Co., Ltd., but were inherited by ATTSDC. Absolutely nothing went on or was implemented, and when support for the kick-off of our tertiary education project [in Nigeria] was sought from Pan Trinbago, again, it was denied; and this led to the failure of that project again. The actual fact is there was no company existing. Pan Trinbago only talks about it when they need to do some form of political campaigning, and when they go back, they tie up the file and lock it up again.”

I wish at this point to state that you are vacillating in the political waters of the National Election of the Presidency of the World Governing Body for Steelpan, Pan Trinbago. The statement that is referenced and highlighted above is in stark contrast to this message that you are now communicating which I might add is now on the Pan Trinbago website, and as well which is attempting to seriously misrepresent the TRUTH about what is the real deal.

Chief, I am advising you that more than 10,000 individuals on-line are viewing your comments and I would suggest as we say in local Trinidad parlance....."to hold your corner.....lest you become a political pawn that you speak of, in your original statement, in this game of cat and mouse with the truth, with Pan Trinbago. Speak your truth Chief Bowei....and it shall set you free........stay clear of the politics.....as we are all watching from the ground in the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago.

    Respectfully yours in Pan,

    Lindsay

    • I insist on what I have said. There is no contrast. For better understanding, what I meant in the underlined statement is that the company is used as one of the achievements and a campaign tool of Pan Trinbago while in truth, nothing is happening with the company. Is this not the truth? I don't know and have never met or spoken to any member of Pan Trinbago in Politics so you can't say I am involved with that. If my comments found its way into their politics, it happened because the situation presented the opening for it to. It is for this reason I have come out openly to state that I am not involved in your politics. Everyone is free to have his own opinion about anything and that really doesn't bother me as long as I know I am being very transparent.

      • Chief Bowei.

Thank you for your frankness, transparency and clarification, in your response underlined above.

        Warmest regards

        Lindsay
