  • Other people showing we in T&T how to appreciate  and love we thing the steel pan.

I know we in T&T not having no steel-band play in  wedding.

Think again people,The  steel pan is not a fragrant and need only love.

    • Don't be too sure about that please...I've played in a few weddings...Both with a band as as a solo performer...

  • My uncle, Clifford Nicholas Roach  got married to Yvette Pouchet,  one of Junior Pouchet's sisters in the Seventies and had the Coca Cola Silver Stars at the reception which was held at our home at 100, Saddle Road, Maraval.. The band members came from a mixed bag of backgrounds but it was the wife of  one of his good friends who was"middle"  class,  who stole several forks, knives and spoons of my grandmother's precious silver cutlery.  The set  had been one of her wedding presents. It was the only sour note to a lovely wedding.

Guests danced and danced the night away to terrific pan music.  Everyone had a grand time. I remember my twin sister,  Roxane and I helping to make deviled eggs, prunes stuffed with peanut butter. and drinking glass after glass of Peardrax and Cydrax.

This video brought back the memories. Thanks for posting. How many weddings today have steelband music?  We are in the forest and cant see the trees. Japanese musicians are obsessive about steelband music and they get support.  Support T &T . Support .....we will live happier lives.

  • ......This was so lovely, blessings to the married couple n all in attendance !!!
