Global - Recently it was announced in the New York Daily News that the city of New York under the auspices of the DOE (Department of Education) has withdrawn its own proposal to place students from an Uncommon Kings Collegiate Charter elementary school into the prestigious I.S. 285 Meyer Levin School for the Performing Arts’ building in East Flatbush after a major pushback from the community.

  • Well, a new day has almost dawned in AMERICAN POLITICS. Or should I say AFRICAN AMERICAN POLITICS. With 487 out of 496 election districts reporting, Espaillat is leading 15,513 votes to 14,419 for Wright (Not so Wright).

This is one of the MOST SIGNIFICANT elections in African American history. If Wright does not close the gap, THE SUN HAS SET!!!

    • Claude this is a game changer. And yes I totally  agree with you, this was one of the most significant elections in African American history.

This could turn out to be one of the most historical elections for one tribe. Even more  significant than the election of Barack Obama to the presidency, in my books. So I await the results with bated breath.

One candidate's campaign chant is: “Es pa’llá que vamos” (“That’s where we’re going”).

And, indeed, if he wins: That's where we are going -- in more ways than ONE.

  • I don't think that WST is looking at the NATIONAL CRISIS facing AFRICAN-AMERICANS in this country!!!

    • It is indeed a national crisis Mr. Gonzales.
