Ah doh want NO STORY TELLING -- ah done know the story (is ah old story with a new twist) and furthermore I just see SKINNY BANTON original and extempo the story (ad infinitum) on DRIVE TIME and ah listen to the CALYPSO about 50 times already. (Ah real like that song!!!)
So I want to hear ah STEELBAND play THE CALYPSO and make it SOUND LIKE THE ORIGINAL CALYPSO (upgraded) with a driving CALYPSO BEAT and some WICKED STRUMMING.
Ah doh want to hear NO CLASSICAL version of a CALYPSO (a great calypso) on PANORAMA NIGHT in TRINIDAD (the MECCA OF CALYPSO) at the HEIGHT of the CARNIVAL SEASON. And ah doh want NO SAMPLING or whatever musical term merrytonestothebone use to describe introduction of clips from other popular songs.
And, most of all, "We also don't need to have someone running up and down the stage grinning at players like a wild jammette in heat to score points." (Sorry, Patrick, ah tief yuh line!!!)
Just give me THE CONSTANT JAMMIN' with THE STEELBAND BEATING!!!
