  • Here's an opportunity to read the review from the last World Steelband Music Festival 2005.

Exodus Wins World Steelband Music Festival - What Next?

  • CH; they CAN'T play Classical Music the WAY IT MUST BE PLAYED, in CALYPSO TEMPO MAYBE, "Boom Competition Style YES,

  • Yes, but Classical music only

  • Anybody gave it a thought that this ICP was supposed to be last year and it came off this year August? Do you think it was by coincident that it came off just before T&T General Election? They always say "Too much of a coincident is not a coincident, it was pre-arranged"

    • Only last night I thought about it, Bede Lopez.  At that cost?  Over US $2 million in prize money alone and the parties involved.....all political, all for re-election.  Huge investment, maybe it was in the budget! We'll see if it pays off.

  • The Americans.Put it in their hands. They also got the best tuners, arrangers, academic programs and infrastructure.

  • Trinidad needs to own the ICP.  Too much risk in losing a part of our culture to foreigners and corporations.

  • No other country has the amount of steelbands/pan yards to support such a venture. The onus is on T&T to continue to be the host country for this very reason.

  • I heard that Pan trinbago got a lot of money from different Countries for this ICP

    • That's the point Bede. If you take a band like EBONY with deep roots and major social and political connections, they could pull the right strings and generate enough sponsors and contributors to raise the money to organize an INTERNTIONAL PANORAMA in England.

That young fellah from EBONY (Justin Thomas) who did the presentation at the ICP -- he could make ANYTHING happen.
