  • Thanks for the posting JJJ. BTW though he was the first pick, he did not accompany the band TASPO on the trip.
    • Yuh getting sentimental, Patrick!!!

      • Yeah, knew him and his family very well. He lost a sister earlier this year.
  • Hmmm, very interesting that nothing came from PanTrinbago. The man who captained the band "Grow more food" before Tripoli was formed, continued playing at his church even after 85 yrs old. He will be missed. Condolences to the family.
Hate to dispute what JJJ reported but Granville did not play the amplified pans, he played tenor with Henry Dottin whose brother Pecan was a saxophonist and also a neighbor of Tripoli. In addition to playing the instrument, he was also a tuner.
  • Condolences to the family and close friends of Mr. Sealy, from the Board, management team and other members of CAL Invaders Steel Orchestra. Keith Simpson always mentioned that Tripoli was the first band to attempt amplification of pan for the road. It is sad that only after his death, the world got to know the name of the first person to play an amplified pan. Shame on the executive of Pan Trinbago Anyway, this must be placed in the history books of PAN>

    • Thanks Cooper, and the CAL Invaders Board management team as well, the Family appreciate your condolences...

  • Condolences to you, his friends and family! We need better strategies to mark the passings of great people like Granville Sealy. When will we have a PAN Hall of Fame?

  • My condolence to the family and one of the pioneers of Tripoli. He was one of the members brought back Pan around your neck as Tripolians.
