REMEMBER that it is an INTERPRETATION OF A CALYPSO ON PAN -- and all who know more about CALYPSO THAN ME ... DEY DONE DEAD AND BURY.
However, I am thoroughly excited by THIS PRESENTATION ... WE NEED MORE CURRENT SHOWS LIKE THIS ... instead of PEOPLE WASTING TIME TALKING ABOUT THE SIXTIES and SEVENTIES.

... ah never work so hard in meh life ... trying to listening to this WHOLE ANALYSIS.
Ah have to give KAREEM BROWN maximum points for using the word: "DISTRACTING." All the years I listen to PANORAMA ARRANGEMENTS and get BORED and DISGUSTED by the ARRANGER'S FAILURE to stick to the tune -- the word "DISTRACTING" never occurred to me. But when MR. BROWN used the word "DISTRACTING" tonight ... it fit my CALYPSO HAND PERFECTLY. As a CALYPSO LOVER -- so many of the PANORAMA ARRANGEMENTS ... SIMPLY DISTRACT ME.
So far, this is a BOSS PRESENTATION!!! Leh me go back and continue listening.And praises to AQUIL and KAREEM -- LOCALS EXCELLING ... I LOVE IT!!!
I disagree with both AQUIL and KAREEM: If you cannot play the VERSE and CHORUS of a POPULAR SONG to meet the standards of the ORIGINAL RECORDING -- you should not even be IN THE FINALS.
(And, by the way, I have been waiting for a LAYMAN'S discussion of a PANORAMA ARRANGEMENT like this for DECADES. So thanks to MR. AQUIL and MR. BROWN.)
Leh me go back and listen to some more -- this is real hard work especially because I think that THIS was a GARBAGE ARRANGEMENT.
So now we reach the VERSE and CHORUS and all here is -- is NOISE (sounds like a little SCHOOL BAND from TUNAPUNA) -- like half of the TRINIDAD POPULATION might think. And, by the way -- that drop down into the CHORUS was PATHETIC -- especially for EDUCATED MUSICIANS. And, as I said in an earlier posting, THE PANS SOUND HARSH AND CRUDE!!! Maybe they are beating them TOO HARD or they need a BETTER TUNER!!!

Honestly -- I cannot abide this PANORAMA desecration of a GREAT CALYPSO anymore after this ....

Allyuh, please -- LISTEN TO THE ORIGINAL CALYPSO!!! Listen to the CALYPSO and hear the SWING UNDERTONE -- that is the essence of the PRODUCTION!!!
