The speaker was talking about FOOTBALL PROGRESS in Trinidad -- through the eyes of an EXPAT. But it applies to your challenge with STEELBANDS and his words could be changed from "FOOTBALL" to "STEELBANDS" without distorting the message.

Marvin Andrews: Trinidad and Tobago STEELBAND is not only about PANORAMA in the SAVANNAH with the PAN PLAYERS, ARRANGERS and STEELBANDS -- it is a collective thing.

For this nation to move forward, everybody have to come together. One of the biggest problem in Trinidad and Tobago STEELBANDS is FINANCES.

There are certain things Aquil Arrindell cannot do as a PRESIDENT OF PAN TRINBAGO without FINANCES.

He can have all the knowledge he can, there are certain things he cannot progress with this team without FINANCES.

This is one of the things that Trinidad and Tobago needs (FINANCES). We have loads of different companies in this country, let’s put in an investment into STEELBANDS, into THE STEELBAND MOVEMENT on a whole.

We have shown for so many decades that STEELBAND MUSIC has GLOBAL APPEAL and economic potential and that this LOCALLY INVENTED INSTRUMENT  can compete with the best in music production.

But you need that SUPPORT, when it comes to the FINANCES. It’s not only when they (STEELBANDS) come on the PANORAMA STAGE, but off the stage as well.

This is the point I was hinting at to you yesterday!!! But there can't be no BOBOL with the money and BENEVOLENCE towards PAN PROGRESS has to PREVAIL with good administrative skills and financial integrity!!! NO MORE CORRUPTION!!!
