Ah read the NEW VISIONARIES plan! Ah read the CIP plan! Ah read the Pan Rolling on the ground just like in the sixties plan! Ah read the BUGS plan, the merrytonestothebone plan, the SIDD plan, the Russell plan, the Salah Plan, the Wayne Cezair plan, the Arthur Traverso plan, and a hundred other plans.

Ah even read the GREGORY LINDSAY plan which is supposed to be released tomorrow.

  • If Keith Diaz was elected Leader of PT with these managerial skills, there's hope for anyone with a desire to SERVE not at the bar but in service for those you LEAD.

“Anytime you want to be a great manager, try and run a steelband. When you finish, you can run any organization in the world” (Diaz*). Ten years later in 2009, Keith Diaz was appointed president of Pan Trinbago. Diaz discussed with me his business skills, which he attributed to the many managerial roles he has held. He shared an interesting story with me: Hear how we use to make money at the bar. I use to pay players to come practice, but I made a rule… every person who comes to practice at night gets paid. So, you can’t come back and ask for money later in the night because you got money up front for traveling. During the night they would buy beers. I would even give them a free beer but once you start, you would want to buy more. The money was recycling (Diaz*).”
Diaz’s clever way of giving the players money, and collecting it the same night through the bar, is an act he is proud of.”

  • Clearly Trinidad and Tobago should have already firmly established itself as the Silicon Valley Plus of Pan. People like Rolly Polly, D'Photo and D'PRO lack the ability or foresight for this to happen.  In fact they are prime reasons why this has not happened. Anything caught up in their web is tainted and suspect.

What you have now is a generation of brilliance and genius that was committed to the Trinidad and Tobago steelpan movement wasted. Such an exceptional array of talent from Anthony Williams, North Stars, Clive Bradley, George Goddard, Kitchener, Sparrow, Rudolph Charles, Mannette, Jit Samaroo, Ray Holman, Dalton Narine, Winifred Atwell, Dr Dawn Batson, Dr. Gerry Connor and others wasted. Simply an opportunity missed and genius wasted.

These people produced success in Pan education, business, innovations, performance, creatively and the arts in a manner the world had never seen or experience.

Sadly it is because of shortsightedness in business, government and the community that has empowered gangstas like Rolly Polly, D'Photo and D'PRO.

The Doctor Dolly will end this reign of terror and stupidness. Look for the International Steelband Foundation to take the lead.

So can someone tell me why the Trinidad Guardian has to import foreigners to write about Pan in Trinidad and Tobago and the rest of the world. Is there not one graduate from UWI or UTT who could have done that job?

    .

    • Bugs, the government pays incompetent people to manage the Steelband Movement, what do we expect? leadership is what has things the way it is.

      • No CH, that is NOT leadership, that is CORRUPTION at the highest level, the whole system is corrupted...

        • JJJ wey yuh come out boy, we are still at it, as they say it's not over till it's over.

      • CH, I see U guys R still at it???

  • Too bad the PRO isn't focused on PROMOTING Panorama 2018, it's hard managing multiple PRIORITIES with yuh back against the wall, the administrative tasks involved are incomplete, the list of bands schedule to compete and their tune of Choice are not available. If you type Panorama 2018 schedule on Google you will see who tops the search engine.http://www.panonthenet.com/tnt/2018/schedule.htm
