bands and arrangers

Time in and time out I see arrangers go with band and they may arrange for one year or so and they are gone. Is that enough time for a band to get use to an arrangers style.

Look at in NY I played in Harmony and Duvon was there helping another guy and i felt if the owner kept him the band would have been good flash forward think the next year or so he went to casym and they won, same band had professor and I believe they came 4th and that was it they had mark and let him go.

Look at katzenjammers with leon foster they had him for 1 year they came 4th and that was it, Should arrangers do a 3-4 year contract along with doing stage side music so that the band can beable to mesh with them

  • Sometimes it's more than just results that causes a band and arranger to part ways. It can be money, scheduling, even attitude that does it.
