Beverley: Katzenjammers need financial support

With one month to go before Carnival, Pan Trinbago President Beverly Ramsey-Moore says her band, Katzenjammers Steel Orchestra, like many of its counterparts, needs support for Panorama.

This is because the Black Rock-based, Tobago, outfit, which had been sponsored by Petrotrin for the past seven years, still has not received word on its fate after the company's closure in November.

Petrotrin has been replaced by two new entities: Heritage Petroleum Company Limited and Paria Fuel Trading Company.

"Going into the preliminaries, we are safe with respect to that. But going forward into the semis and finals, we will definitely need the support," she told Newsday Tobago.

  • I love Katzjammers, Are people doing fund raisers for it? I hope it reaches Finals, as usual, and be the winner of the top prize

As president of Pan Trinbago, Beverley should pull her band out of the competition if participating doesn't make economic sense.  She should demonstrate fiscal responsibility and maturity to the rest of the members. Any band, one month before the competition that is still struggling to figure out how secure the finances for participating should stay away.

  • "And as such, all we are asking for is partnership, not handouts."

Beverley, herself, knows how that PARTNERSHIP TING work out with PHASE II (Ah real high man promise me that he have his LAWYERS standing by if ah say anything about that -- so ah have to keep the story to mehself -- but I know that BEVERLEY KNOW the full story!!!).

So save that PARTNERSHIP talk and start REBUILDING on your own as you PROMISED ONE MILLION TIMES during the ELECTION CAMPAIGN.

  • "But, she said, she later read a newspaper article in which Petrotrin chairman Wilfred Espinet, spoke disparagingly about Pan Trinbago and pan. She claimed Espinet, in the article, had compared the pan to a guitar."
