birdsong
presents a Free Community Concert
Sunday December 18 @ 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Auzonville Park, Tunapuna, Trinidad, W.I.
Birdsong has an Academy where students are exposed to music on various instruments including: Steelpan; Brass; Keyboard; Percussion - all of which will be on show come this Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Auzonville Park, Tunapuna - one block away from the band's headquaters on St. Vincent Street in Tunapuna, Trinidad.
This project by Birdsong is pioneering and an example that other steelbands can investigate as a model to introduce music to youths of their respective communities.
This free public concert will also feature the Lydian Singers and will pay tribute to the choir's late Musical Director, Dr. Pat Bishop. Her long and dedicated association with the steelband movement had some roots in her role in Birdsong as their Conductor at successive festivals in 1980's Pan is Beautiful series.
The Birdsong Academy is proud to host this event again this year as a follow-up to last year's successful concert.

This is going to be a great concert.
I wish you could bring this live. I was in T&T for last year's concert and I enjoyed the show immensely. My three nieces made me so proud since they participated in the show playing the pan and other musical instruments.
