What can I tell yuh? Kendell is as good as any arranger they could hire for the job.
I think we'll get the composing ting from Kendell when he finishes his PhD. As for now, I don't see any reason why he should NOT take the job. He has full control of a winning band, and a good opportunity to make HIS mark.
So yuh go take ah band that win PANORAMA how much times in a row straight and arrange them down to SECOND or THIRD and call that MAKING YOUR MARK.

Allyuh not understanding the socio-cultural climate in TRINIDAD will not permit a EXPAT or FOREIGN ARRANGER to win in ANY CATEGORY. Not even the SMALLEST of the SMALL BAND.
It was different with ANY NARELL. He did not go to win. And nobody expected him to win.
He went to get the experience of having a BIG PANORAMA band to work with so that he could hear and feel the vibrations of THE STEELBAND CULTURE and then go back home and take those AUTHENTIC VIBES and COMPOSE MUSIC AROUND IT.
