Changes in Panorama format

Pan Trinbago president Keith Diaz said Tuesday there have been some changes in the format for the 2016 competition, the most significant being the semi-finals where all conventional bands would face the adjudicators.
Diaz spoke to the Express at the launch of Panorama 2016, at the VIP Lounge, Queen’s Park Savannah in Port of Spain.
Panorama action will kick off this Friday from 6 p.m. with the Northern Region National Single Pan Preliminaries at the Paddock, Queen’s Park Savannah in Port of Spain. Twenty-nine bands will face the judges.
The Single Pan competiton continues the following evening at Skinner Park, San Fernando from 8 a.m. Ten steelbands will face the judges. Sunday evening it will be the turn of 21 bands in the eastern region to face the judges at the Arima Velodrome from 5 p.m.
All tickets for the Single Pan competitions are $60.
Patrons attending the pan preliminaries on the Greens on January 24 will enjoy a bigger venue, safer parking areas, a food court and a wifi area.
There will also be a refreshment zone on an elevated platform where patrons who may want to get away from the crowd to relax.
There will also be large screens and a traffic lighting system that will send the appropriate signal when a band is on stage.
For the finals of the Panorama on February 6, patrons choosing the North Stand will enjoy an all-inclusive option with access to a premium bar and food.
Consultant Daniel Lambert advised that patrons should leave their coolers behind.
Patrons will pay $500 for the Grand Stand experience.
