Bands are looking to go with the younger arranger these days, and we can clearly see the young guys are not afraid to go head to head with their work. Eight bands play four tunes, each time it's a young and old.

Eight bands played four songs, each time it was a Young Arranger going up against an Older arranger, the younger annanger beat the Older three times and tied the forth, solid evidence of a changing of the guard.

Cecil: I don't think that none ah dem YOUNG CHICKENS going and HATCH on SATURDAY NIGHT.
BOOGSIE and SMOOTH still ruling the roosts.
Looks like you have to wait another year or two or three!!!
Ah feeling sorry for DUVONE!!! He finally break through with a "town say win" arrangement and he draw NUMBER ONE on FINALS NIGHT. Ah think dem YANKEES call that: Can't win for losing!!!
Yea but if Duvone should win an epic Calypso should written about how all the big dogs could not catch him after he dropped his "science" as young people say, from position one.

Youth man put it down and nobody could touch it.
Just came from listening to your band Ces. Boogsie after much alteration has finally got the feel of the tune. No ending yet as of tonight but with Ray's drilling the vintage phase sound is at last there.
Mentally erase the Prelims and semis performances.
A.L, the best performance will win, and you know that that's not necessarily the best arranged tune.
In all there are seven young arrangers and six old ones in the large band finals.
