     not seeing any reps from the bandleaders- is this normal?

    LUCAS APPOINTED NCC INTERIM CEO

    Port of Spain, Trinidad, Tuesday, April 24, 2018: Following a meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the National Carnival Commission of Trinidad and Tobago (NCC) on Tuesday April 24, the decision was taken to appoint former Chairman, Colin Lucas as Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective from May 1 to July 31, 2018. 

     

    Incoming Chairman, Winston Peters, said that he welcomes the decision and looks forward to working with the Board and the Acting CEO in the best interests of Carnival.

    Excellent!  Colin did a great job this year.  It was the best Dimanche Gras Show in years. We have to do something about Tuesday Parade of Bands.  Some tough decisions have to be made on the parade.  Actually, it is not a parade.  Also, no people are in the stands.

    Would be nice to have an updated organizational chart to show the role and responsibilities of the members/commissioners.

    Mission: To preserve the traditional heritage of Trinidad and Tobago Carnival whilst ensuring its sustainable
    development as a viable industry.

    The Mandate of the National Carnival Commission is set out in Chap 42:01 Act No. 9 of 91 of the Laws of Trinidad and Tobago and is as follows:

    1. To  make Carnival a viable national, cultural and commercial enterprise
    2. To provide the necessary managerial and organizational infrastructure
    3. To establish arrangements for ongoing research, the preservation and permanent display of the annual accumulation of Carnival products.
