  • Rest in peace Ralph "Cardinal" Davis. I can see him now bumping behind his second pan in the early 1960's before he moved onto the double tenor. He and Denzil "Belt" Botus were the band's first double tenor men. I remember in 1965 by Memorial Park before the Savannah, the band got caught in a band fight between 2 other bands and Ralph got cut on his foot. Looking back now, he was one of the men who made the band's first Africa tour in April 1966 to depart.  So they are Ralph, Sadman, Herbert, Panther, Gunga, Reddock, Gill, Rupert and Charlo.
