Culture Minister Dr. the Honourable Nyan Gadsby-Dolly toured several pan yards this week including Pan Jammers, San Juan All Stars, Valley Harps Steel Orchestra and Newtown Play Boys Steel Symphony.
On January 26, the Minister was also present for the momentous occasion of the opening night of the Klassic Ruso Calypso Tent which is currently celebrating Calypsonian Anthony “All Rounder” Hendrickson’s 50 years in Calypso. Later in the evening, she visited the Newtown Play Boys Pan Yard for the Pan Trinbago’s Final Judging for the Single Pan Qualifying Round (North).
During the tour the Minister was warmly greeted by the Pan and Calypso fraternities. These visits form part of the Minister’s commitment and support in facilitating the development and promotion of calypso, steel pan, mas and all indigenous art forms in Trinidad and Tobago.
