Let me begin by sincerely expressing my humblest of apologies for only now addressing my peers on this global forum.
My Dear Fellow pan women and men globally,
It is documented that pan as we know it was conceived in WW II, the last time the world fought, and was subjected to common global social restrictions. Similar conditions under which COVID-19 has placed the world today, especially in the context of the freedom of movement.
"The world has come to a screeching halt." creating an environment where creative minds have the liberty to excel or explode.
The evidence before us is suggesting that properly managed steelbands with the capacity to effectively mobilize and retool to adapt, may evolve into the next stage of the art form more rapidly, and smoothly. The individuals and bands that have taken the lead in virtual mobilization and production may be the ones leading the pack when normalcy returns.
Steelbands and steelband leaders without the vision and/or ability to start implementing the changes that are necessary in a sustainable manner, those without the capacity to harness, and promote the talent and resources necessary to effect these changes, may lag.
How will the music evolve? Who knows what Smooth, Boogsie, Zander, Duvonne et al, are creating in self isolation and quarantine? How will the instrument evolve? what is Max, Birch, Mappo and others experimenting with?
Considering the numerous challenges facing steelbands in light of all the cancelled carnivals and panoramas globally, it is necessary that pan players at all strata, and exponents in all disciplines of the art form keep the faith and encourage each other in these crazy and changing times.
We'll get through this together.

THE WORLD GOVERNING BODY FOR PAN, THE IGNOMINIOUS PAN TRINBAGO continues to (mis)lead a wide cross section its membership silently and motionlessly into oblivion, all the while loudly cheering the efforts of the more progressive member organizations from the sidelines, without making any effort, or showing any interest in influencing the futuristic development of these weaker member bands.
It is encouraging to see EXODUS redesign their Signature Event Pan Ramajay to meet the needs of the steepan fraternity.
