The TT Defence Force Steel Orchestra came out in full force to defend their title in the Conventional Single Pan Panorama preliminary round at Desperadoes panyard, Tragarete Road, Port of Spain, last Tuesday evening.
They were the final band of the evening and they took a very long time to get started, much to the displeasure of the chairman of the Northern region, Desire Meyers. Apparently the force was too much, as at the end of the official count, it was discovered there were 63 players. The maximum number of players in this category is 60.

THIS VEE PEE making out like A BANDIT with this ALL YEAR PANORAMA. I would not be surprised if this whole EXTENDED PANORAMA idea turned out to be HIS IDEA.
The man arrange for TWO BANDS in the SINGLE PAN; and he ended up winning with ONE BAND while being allowed to go OVER THE LIMIT with players. (That should have been an automatic DISQUALIFICATION!!!)
And now he is the "DRILL MASTER" (well allyuh know he doing more than DRILLING) for that SMALL BAND.
Sweet Sweet T&T -- Lord how ah LUV UP the ANYHOWNESS in MEH COUNTRY. (Ah copyright violated both DAVID RUDDER and MERRYTONESTOTHEBONE in ONE LINE.)
Claude why allyuh making' meh want to talk about this Panorama stupidness?...
Just Monday last at Merry Tones judging exercise the Treasurer of Pan Trinbago and I were discussing an incident at our panyard last year (2018) where we delayed the judges for over an hour while we were in the last minute process of setting up the band. To which end we received a proper tongue-lashing from him (he was a Northern Region exec then) as he introduced us to the judges. He indicated to me that this year a time limit, beyond which a recalcitrant band could face immediate disqualification, was in place to deal with such an issue.
Clearly the Defence Force were too big to be disciplined...Why am I not surprised?...
Penalize the judges for sitting in the maxi much longer than necessary.
