West Indian Tobacco Company Ltd (WITCO) Desperadoes’ manager Dr Finbar Fletcher has said the police presence at the band’s temporary headquarters, at Queen’s Park East (next to Belmont Cafe) was intended to provide “peace of mind and comfort” to the band’s diehard supporters.

Dr Fletcher made this comment yesterday during the launch of the band’s 50th anniversary celebrations and 2015 Panorama song “Pan Hooray” sung by calypsonian SuperBlue (Austin Lyons).
He described it “as a relationship solidified in steel.”

Among those attending were Pan Trinbago president Keith Diaz, assistant manager Anthony Joseph, celebrity arranger Robert Greenidge, SuperBlue, captain Brian Charles and WITCO corporate and regulatory affairs executive Josiane Khan.
